Detailed description/information
The fly fishing zone in Grimsa and parts of the Folla River is approximately 18 km long. A total of 10 permits are sold per day. The river alternates between rapids and calm stretches.
The river is easily accessible from the road, as a forest road runs along the eastern side of the river throughout the entire fly fishing zone. The larger fish can be challenging to catch, but there are truly fine specimens of both trout and grayling to be found.
Fishing regulations
- Fishing season: June 1 – October 15. All trout are protected from and including September 15.
- In the Grimsa fly fishing area, only fly fishing is permitted, where the line provides the casting weight.
- All fish under 35 cm must be released. All fish over 40 cm must also be released.
- Quota: maximum 1 fish per fishing day. It is recommended that all fish be released.
- Please handle fish that are to be released with care.
- The fishing permit is personal and non-transferable. The permit is not valid without identification.
- Children under 16 years of age fish free of charge.
- Violations of the fishing regulations may result in prosecution.

Tips for better fishing
Try to locate rising fish. Avoid wading as much as possible, as the fish are easily spooked.
