Arctic char is the only species in this lake that is situated north in The Trysil commune. The quality of the fish is extremely good and fish of 0,5 – 1,5 kg is abundant. Røsjøen is a popular lake during all seasons and it is about 1,5 km walk to the lake.
Røsjøen is a mountain lake situated north-east of Eltdalen valley. The lake covers aprox. 230 daa and has an average depth of about 4 meters. Its easy to navigate along the lake due to firm ground and litle vegetations along the shoreline. Artic char is the only species. Due to cool and oxygenated waters, fish has good contitions for reproduction and growth.
in lake Røsjøen fishing is permitted all year but use of boats is prohibited. This is a very popular fishing lake, especially in wintertime. Røsjøen holds a population where big char is quite common. And it lives vell on the lakes population of small crustaceans.
The License covers the whole area that Trysil Fellesforening administers, which cover most of Trysil commune, approximately 100 rivers, lakes and ponds.
Fishing regulations
- Fishing is permitted all year. Exept in northern parts of river Trysil. North of Håens outlet, fishing is prohibited in the period march 15th -may 15th.
- Maximum size for trout and grayling:
- Between Sennsjøen and Engerdal border, and between outlet of river Koloåa and the Swedish border, trout over 30 cm and grayling over 35 cm are to be put back unharmed. Anglers may keep one trout or one grayling over maximum size pr. day.
- Minimum size: Between Sennsjøen and the outlet of river Koloåa, the minimum size for trout and grayling are 25 cm. All fish under minimum size are to be put back unharmed.
- Salmon might be caught in the Trysil river and are to be put back with no acceptation.
- Barb-less hooks is recomended.
- Use of live baitfish is prohibited.
- The license is personal and only applies to that person. ID must be shown together with license.
- Children under the age of 16 can fish without license.
- Violation to the fishing regulations will be reported.
